Telemach Sports day started in Zadar

Over 2,000 children gathered at the Krešimir Ćosić Hall in Zadar for the sports and educational event – Telemach Sports Day!
For 29 years, the mission of Plazma Youth Sports Games, the largest amateur sports event in Europe, has been to encourage an active lifestyle, inclusion, tolerance, and socialization among children and young people.
Young athletes were joined and encouraged by the Mayor of Zadar, Branko Dukić, representatives of Telemach, Igor Duić and Vedran Hrgović, basketball players from KK Zadar, Krševan Klarica, Toni Torbarina and Manuel Dundović, and former footballer Vedran Ješe.
The official opening ceremony began with the lighting of the torch, brought in by young athletes led by Matej Nevešćanin, a diver and Zadar’s Best Athlete of 2024.
Competitions in dodgeball and athletics have been part of Telemach Sports Day for five years now. Dodgeball, a particularly popular discipline that promotes inclusion and teamwork through mixed-gender teams, saw an incredible 102 teams participate in Zadar!
The most skillful dodgeball teams were Regoči – Smiljevac and Smješkići – Smiljevac
The fastest runners were Viktorija Poljak and Marko Fatović (2014 and younger), and Klara Saratlija and Toma Antić (2016 and younger), proudly winning gold medals.
This season, Telemach Sports Day will travel across Croatia, organizing 31 sports and educational events in every county!
