Šime Vrsaljko and Aleksandar Kolarov – new ambassadors of YSG

Šime Vrsaljko and Aleksandar Kolarov have been named the new ambassadors of Plazma Youth Sports Games. The official announcement took place at Hrvatski dom in Split, in attendance many athletes, distinguished guests, and public figures from the region and Europe. The new ambassadors were welcomed by Tonči Glavina, the Croatian Minister of Sports and Tourism, Ivica Puljak, the Mayor of Split, the host city, and Zdravko Marić, the President and Founder of Plazma Youth Sports Games. UEFA President and SIM Ambassador Aleksander Čeferin also addressed the new ambassadors and all attendees via video message, once again expressing his support for the Games.
“It doesn’t matter if it’s amateur or professional sports; sport always promotes the best and most beautiful values. It is crucial for the development of our children, their character, and their future lives. I believe Youth Sports Games are the right path because this project is a voice that resonates far and wide. Children can’t be deceived; that’s what I remember from my participation when I was ten years old. Now, it’s my turn to promote only the best , what I experienced firsthand at Youth Sports Games, and to educate our children for a better future,” said Šime Vrsaljko, who received the plaque for the new ambassador from Nemanja Vidić.
Johannes Hahn, European Commissioner for Budget and Administration and longtime SIM ambassador, welcomed Aleksandar Kolarov to the Youth Sports Games.
“I am glad that this generation has the opportunity to participate in the Youth Sports Games. The perseverance, joy, and sincerity that children possess are something they can teach us adults, and we, with our experience, must help them continue on this path. As a new ambassador, I will be available to instill in the next generations the importance of engaging in sports, but above all , of being good people.” – said Kolarov.
The official ceremony was held as part of the Alta Bank International Finals of the 28th season of Plazma Youth Sports Games and All-Star Sports Day.
